My commitment is to openly and authentically share my story in order to touch people&#8217;s hearts and minds and promote positive change in how others perceive and understand transgender individuals like me. And to help others see the possibilities and joy of living authentically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In this article, &#8220;<strong>Love Knows No Gender &#8211; Parenting a Transgender Child<\/strong>&#8220;, I&#8217;m sharing my insights and experiences to help parents with their relationship with their child. I don&#8217;t want other children to have the experiences I did and live as I had to. Age may change the situation, but not the relationship &#8211; 10, 15, 25, 40, it&#8217;s all the same. I talk with parents about what to do and how to change their perspectives and learn to accept their child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The Council is a coalition of PFLAG chapters within the greater Chicago land area. It was formed in the late 1990\u2019s as a vehicle for unifying PFLAG\u2019s presence and voice in Northern Illinois.
