Self-acceptance is a key to successful thriving in transition. 80% of transition is between the ears. The rest is details. With self-acceptance comes a sense of being whole and integrated. Without true self-acceptance we struggle to make changes in our lives. We can feel degrees of self-doubt and fears. And we make excuses and rationalize why we cannot take steps to move forward with our transition. We may even tend to focus on others in our lives compromising our transition for them and their wishes. We are all expert in rationalizing to avoid doing what we need to do. I recommend testing each decision you make. Ask yourself if this is what I really need to do for me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With self-acceptance, we know what we need to do. We move forward without crippling doubts. We are more likely to take steps forward without compromise. I believe once achieving that level of self-acceptance, you can deconstruct the gender you were raised to be and lived. Deconstruction is possible and with self-acceptance, and your authentic gender presentation then becomes more natural and easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
