So Your Child is Transgender!?<\/u> \u2013 4 Weeks<\/h3>\n

This program is for Parents, relatives, family members, and allies.\u00a0 Throughout this program, the word \u201cchild\u201d refers to the relationship, not age. The goal is help you get comfortable with this significant change in your family and provide guidance, understanding, peace of mind.<\/p>\n

MODULE 1. Understanding Transgender<\/strong> \u2013 Week 1. As a person who lived for decades, in secret, born transgender, I will share aspects of my life, to help you gain new insights.<\/p>\n

Results:<\/p>\n

  • Gain a sense of your child\u2019s view and strength it took to say how they feel<\/li>\n
  • Gain more information about Transgender socially and medically<\/li>\n
  • You\u2019ll have someone to talk with who understands and has lived this<\/li>\n
  • This doesn\u2019t go away and it\u2019s definitely not a choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • You\u2019ll feel calm and open to new perspectives<\/li>\n
    • The fears, anxieties, and doubts will be gone or greatly reduced<\/li>\n

      MODULE 2. If parents only knew what NOT to do<\/strong> \u2013 Weeks 2-3. My life is a classic example of what not to do with your child. We\u2019ll go into the importance of your role and things you can do that will greatly help.<\/p>\n

      • You\u2019ll understand this is nothing you did or caused<\/li>\n
      • What about your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. and what to say<\/li>\n
      • Family transitions too \u2013 family dynamics and roles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Being flexible with changes in roles and family interactions<\/li>\n

          MODULE 3. Where you go from here<\/strong> \u2013 Weeks 3-4. This is where you begin to accept new possibilities in the family. Discussion centers on the person in transition. Your child is actually becoming who they\u2019ve always been. They will blossom and continue to evolve. And as they do, the family will evolve too.<\/p>\n
